Winter 2024/2025 Schedule
Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Colorado backcountry in winter! An experienced guide will navigate the group and share their knowledge about the natural world. Topics range from forest ecology, winter animal adaptations, snow science, and much more. Snowshoes, poles, and transportation are included.
Each backcountry snowshoe hike below is scheduled from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Participants meet at Walking Mountains Science Center at 8:45am and your guide will provide transportation to the trailhead. All snowshoes are moderately challenging and usually travel a distance of less than 3 miles and less than 700' of elevation gain. Locations may be subject to change depending on weather, snowpack, and trail conditions.
